Every year Lower Somerset EMS holds its Annual Christmas Party. During this event the Department recognizes top responding members as well as members who go above and beyond in day to day operations. Unfortunately this year we were unable to hold our Christmas party because of Covid-19 and the restrictions that have been placed in effect by Maryland's Governor. With that being said, it's important to communicate to the public and recognize our top performers here. The below numbers represent a total count of calls the member has responded on from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. Please congratulate the following members for a job well done!

Top five 'Squad Members':

1 - First Lieutenant M. Evans - 242
2 - EMT V. Hunt - 240
3 - EMT A. Reynolds - 211
4 - Captain M. Tomlins - 180
5 - President / Life Member G. Nelson - 118

Members are required to sign up for shifts to ensure we maximize coverage. Many of these shifts are for a 12 hour period. The below list shows the amount of time our top ten members have given to the community and squad in 2020.

1 - Driver R. Hunt - 874 hours
2 - EMT V. Hunt - 649 hours
3 - Assistant Chief Engineer R. Joyner - 588 hours
4 - EMT A. Reynolds - 562 hours
5 - EMT R. Drewer - 545 hours
6 - EMT J. McCready - 536 hours
7 - EMT K. White - 443 hours

Our members dedicated over 6,430 hours last year to ensure staffing was available to respond on emergencies. Our total calls for 2020 was 994. That averages to a call every 8.81 hours.

The above people, as well as all our members, make it possible to keep our doors open and we are very fortunate to have such a dedicated group of volunteers overall. We look forward to continuing to provide the citizens and visitors to Crisfield and surrounding areas the best service possible.

We are always looking for people who are interested in becoming EMT's and drivers. If interested please visit our 'Recruitment' page for more information or to fill our a membership form with the below provided link.
