By Captain Matt Tomlins
March 13, 2021

As previously reported on by Lower Somerset EMS, carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that can not be seen, smelled, or tasted. Because of this we recommend that any household that has any type of open flame, such as a gas water heater, stove, or anything with a pilot light or combustion engines should have a working CO detector.

To ensure the safety of our personnel we have recently placed in service portable CO detectors made by Industrial Scientific. The compact Tango TX1 detectors can be affixed to our equipment that we carry into the house and will immediately notify us of unsafe CO conditions. Each unit that will now have this new equipment.
